Our two weeks together in the summer are a lively mix of creating digital stories, exploring the creations of others, reflecting on our practices of instructional design, brainstorming ideas for how we can apply digital storytelling in our classrooms, and presenting proposals for units we could implement in the upcoming school year.

Learn about foundational research and insight on story elements, storytelling in general, and digital storytelling in particular.
Unwrap and get to know your camcorder and other tools
Learn some shooting fundamentals
Tell (and film) a brief story that captures something about the last school year
Day 2
Learn about what makes a compelling story
Take a tour of PCDS for scene possibilities
Learn about shot types
Learn about storytelling essentials
Examine digital storytelling planning tools
Begin production of the Ideal School promotional video
Receive an introduction to editing
Day 3
Learn more about editing
Explore video production resources
Continue Ideal School production
Day 4
Continue and finish Ideal School production

Discuss participants' use of the Alliance wiki
Plan and produce a digital poem
